Salmon Pie
Hello everyone...(at this point..no one:)))..)
In my home country I never cooked any fish pie but since is so big here in the UK I thought I should give it a go...and my hubby ho is not a big fan of fishy things loved it...so I will definitely do it again!
I got the recipe from the ready to roll Puff Pastry pack( from Asda),but I switched the chicken(from the original recipe) with the fish, so here it is:
Ingredients:
500 g of ready to roll puff pastry
500 g cooked salmon cut into chunks (I cooked it in a little bit of butter in a pan for approx. 8 min.)
300 g of mixed vegetables( diced carrots, peas, green beans, you could put in mushrooms if you decide to have a chicken pie)
1 onion peeled and diced
25 g butter
2 tablespoons of flour( I used more than that)
450 ml of chicken stock
150 ml of single cream
milk to brush the pastry
How to:
Soften the onion in the butter, add the flour and cook for 2 minutes.Gradually add the chicken stock and the single cream .Bring to the boil.Add the choice of your meet and the vegetables (At this point NEXT TIME I will let it cool for a few minutes and then I'll pour in one large bitten egg just to give it a little more of a consistency to make it not so runny if you know what I mean. .Pour the mixture into a 1.25 - 1.5 litre deep pie dish, roll out the pastry and top the dish, sealing the edges.Cut a steam hole in the top, brush with milk and bake for 30 min until the pastry is risen and golden.
enjoy!!
The chicken stock I made was a mixture of boiled hot water and this:
I got it from Romania ,it's a granulary consistency mixture of dried vegetables with a chicken flavor.
here are some snapp shots :300 g of mixed vegetables

I'm not a huge fan of cupcakes,I mean I don't like eating them so much as I loveeee to decorate them, and just the way they look so delicate and colorful! My 2 year old loves them, she had a cupcake birthday cake for her last birthday:
see you next time!!
