WIWW- in Nottingham

 

Saturday we went to visit Nottingham...and Ikea:) I looove Ikea,I could live there...well you can...they have small flats everywhere !
 

The city was beautiful,
beautiful  weather,
 (the key ingredient to a good day in England),
we had a really nice time with family and friends!

Embrace the camera 13/09/2012

 

I love taking family pictures !  Can you tell?:)

I've been praying for a family since I can remember, now,

by God's grace I have been blessed with one.

So I am celebrating it!

 

I love taking pictures using natural light,I don't have a fancy camera and I'm not a pro, but what I do know is that the best pictures come out when you use natural light.

So to the park we went with some friends and some soap bubbles!

Craft foam paper + Contact Paper = Endless teaching possibilities

My husband and I try to be intentional about living out our faith for our girls to see, so we can teach them to know and love the Lord and live their life for Him.

 Lately I have been thinking of some new and fun way to teach them about God's creation.

They love their books but I think something practical for them to do and play with would be more fun and interesting.

 

And I came up with this:

 

 

 

 

All I used cost me £1.60.

That would be some were around 3$.

 

I have found a big stash of colourful craft foam paper at a Car Boot Sale,and got it for £1!!

Finding craft supplies at a Car Boot Sale is like finding gold to me !

And a small roll of Contact Paper- 60p.

 

 

 

 

You can teach them about seasons,how to tell time,write their name,numbers and so on using just these two craft supplies and a pair of scissors,and it is extra fun sticking all of those fun colourful shapes to the window.It makes a great sensory play for babes too and keeps your toddler busy after .

 

I used play dough animal shape cutters(cookie cutter) to outline the shape of the animals and I just used my free hand in cutting out the other shapes, like trees,the sun,moon and so on.

 

 

 

 

 

I tried to make  them as detailed as I could, to make the girls feel excited about playing with them and listening to the story.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I know the contact paper looks white in the pictures but it is actually clear in real life.

That is why we used our living room glass door to stick it and not a wall ,it looked prettier this way with the sunlight coming through.

 

 

 

They love it.

It is still up  on our living room door/window.

Our Fall Bucket list !

Embrace the camera 06/09/2012

The lovely Emily over at The Anderson Crew had this great idea of turning the camera around on you(me).

 

I started this blog to record in some way our life, my girls life so that they will know how much they were/are loved and how big of a blessing they are to us, they make us complete...

and usually I am the one behind the camera taken the pictures...but I'm not in them that much...

and as sad as it may be ,

one day, we won't be around...

do we really just want to be a distant memory?

Pictures are a way to remind our loved ones of what we once were regardless of how we look ,

they will treasure those photos one day! It doesn't need to be with a good camera. It just needs to be you, with your kids, husband, or someone else who may be near and dear to your heart.

In love with fall! Love everything about it!

The crisp air, the beautiful gold, brown-red colours of the falling leafs, sweaters,scarfs, boots and jeans and hot chocolate, pumpkin pie  and my favourite, flushed baby cheeks!

Simple Kids Craft - Toilet paper roll Rapunzel craft

Hey there,how is you weekend going so far?

Mine is not that great, I have both my  girls feeling poorly...

 * sad face*

We've been crafting & recycling too, to make them feel better, here is our fun craft:

 

 

 

It is very easy to do and Emma loved it!

 Hannah destroyed the evil witch in 3 sec and got  black sharpie all over her shirt....so...yhea!

Don't worry,  mummy made it all better with the magic Glue Gun!

You can totally make it a boy craft too, just have a dragoon  or a monster instead of Rapunzel and use boy colors..I don't really know..I have girly girls.

 

 

 

 

 

Cut around the top part of your toilet paper roll to look like a castle tower, cut out a window and just trace around it with a sharpie to make it look more "real".

Let your kids decorate it as they wish.

For the puppets I used a craft stick (you can use a wooden stick or a pencil) and glued on a face and dress made from coloured foam (you can use coloured card board) I just used what I had.

 

 

 

 

See?It worked...happy girl!

 

 

I loved hearing her tell stories in her little voice, while she played.
